I started this blog for two reasons: #1: To have a place to put my pictures and share my thoughts from recent trips. #2: For others to enjoy.

About Me

Hello, I’m Doug Knox. I was a late bloomer to the joys of backpacking and low budget travel, and walking alone on a trail in the woods. I did some backpacking while growing up in Colorado. However, in 1985 I traded the mountains and my backpack for the beach and flip flops when I moved my family to Florida.

Five years ago I started rediscovering the simple joys of walking alone on a trail, cooking a meal over a campfire or a small cook stove and sleeping in a tent or a hammock under a sky filled with stars.
